Explanation of e-commerce fees
Our set-up fee covers all the page design, database creation and consulting needed to get you fundraising online.
Your monthly hosting fee covers the security and disk space needed to host your secure payment module. This cost includes security scanning services ($25/month value) and a SSL security certificate ($249/yr value). It also covers our time to support your site and answer questions as you have them each month.
The transaction fee is necessary to cover increased hosting expenses with busier sites. It's an amiable system because sites generating higher sales generally have higher traffic and the increased sales will easily cover the transaction fee. You'll never outgrow your site with 4aGoodCause. The transaction fee revenue allows us to provide the special hardware and support a high-volume site requires. We charge $0.32 per transaction.
Don't have a merchant account or payment gateway?
In order to use 4aGoodCause, you'll need to set up an internet merchant account as well as a payment gateway with one of the providers we support. We know it would be nice if transaction fees could be completely abandoned, but unfortunately, both merchant account providers and payment gateways still charge these fees on all sides of transactions. The good news is that it is very affordable to accept credit cards and you'll receive your funds directly into your bank account and your name will appear on the donor's card or bank statement.
